Cameron mod
Hey guys , this is my take on the Cameron mod , i have added a 4th tube and tweaked the preamp and power section to get as close as i could . Let me know what you think.

glad you liked it , to be honest i dont know too much about different mods he does and ive never seen a schematic or anything like that. Im just going with clips ive heard of the ccv and some others . I played one in the states 2 years ago so im really using my ear to get close to that.

I can remember a few of the tweaks but not in detail cause i havent touched it in a while. I added an extra preamp tube and the amp has a master volume and two gain controls, I think i used 0.0022 couplers for the third stage and 0.022 for the extra valve, PI couplers are 0.1 , tone stack is jcm 800 . I have bypassed the plates with a cap but not sure of the value i think it was 470pf. I have also lowered the filtering of the mains PI and preamp. I really went by ear with this one and was tweaking each component to taste . Iam quite happy actually cause the amp now in super versatile , i can go from a PERFECT jeff beck tone to a super growly high gain marshall just by dialing in the 2 gains , and the amp always maintains definition . I actaully have a few friends asking me to build them one , i just havent got the time right now.

Re: Cameron mod
I have the winning lottery numbers for this week, but I'll post them next week.? I do have the cali mod schematic in hand, but I must ask the provider before I post.. I hope to gain permission!
Jeese! Why do people post clips on a DIY forum that have no credit? For all we know this IS a Cameron amp!

Hi univalve,
sounds good!
Are you able to post a schematic of your mod? This would be very nice!
Regards
Robert

Re: Cameron mod
I don't get it. What's "Cameron" about this mod? Is it one of his that you're applying to this amp?

Re: Cameron mod
This is only my attempt to make my metro kit sound like a cameron modded amp, as i said im only going on clips and one amp ive played two years ago. I was trying to get the mids , bass tightness and aggressive highs as close as i could, just using my ear. I dont have a cameron amp or a laytout for it, this is a metro 50 watt kit ive built and been modifying for over 7 months now. I will try to get the amp off its shell and have a go at drawing a components layout soon. Its basically a jcm 800 with an extra valve , low filtering and an extra gain control.

Re: Cameron mod
Some of Mark's didn't use an extra tube to produce insane amounts of gain (without sounding mushy). The extra tube was sometimes only there for the effects loops.

Re: Cameron mod
never heard/see personally but as far as what they say it has no cathode follower, 4 gain stages out of two tubes
look at the kevin o'connor 4 gain stage or the rocca specs floating around here, it may get you at a starting place
