Dual Bright Caps?

Post by somethin'else » Mon Feb 28, 2011 11:58 pm

Hi Gang,

Does anyone have a drawing for a Volume Pot using a push-pull dual gang 1M (think that's the right one) to have two bright cap possibilities?

Can't seem to find a layout anywhere, and I'm a spud when it comes to figuring it out!

Oh, it's for a 12 Series Metro.

Thanks!
dave

I dont think the dual gang with a push pull is easily available, however the single gang push pull is. Here are two possible ways to wire it. I tend to use version 1, I find it doesn't pop when you switch caps.

Thanks Groovenut! I've used those plenty in guitars, but they feel kinda chintzy, what about SPST?
Cedist has 'em, which I found on this thread.

But I'm not sure a SPST will do it. Hmm, need to read up on the functions of those.

I can't remember, are the Volume Pots linear or audio?

Also, found this thread too on the Split/Shared Cathode switching, and they're using the one you prescribed. THAT looks like fun too.

Hey, Thanks again.

Very flexible!
Plus: they even have the correct thread diameter!
The most Alpha/Taiwan- push-pull pots have the 7mm thread dia only.

wow, Thanks Neikeel, those look really nice. I spotted some from AES, the Alpha 7mm ones, but these look a lot more robust.

I'm assuming you've used these? How do they feel? It's the only downfall to those push-pulls is they feel kind of "light", but I've never tried these. Cool!

Thanks for the link!
