I started using my reactiveload Attenuator(power tool) into my 1959SLP I kept the volume down to 5..After using it my power tubes started to flash and I can't get a good sound...When I plugged it straight in to the speaker it was OK.....I have not checked the amp yet I will tomorrow but a amp tech I called said the output Tranny wires can get hot and burn the inselation off....Has this ever happened to anyone? My Attenuator is sort of like a SE100...

Why is attenuator is going to burn wires? It can't pull more current than you power amp can give... Well if you'll plug an 4 ohm speaker in the 8 ohm tap, your secondary wiring in the OT is going to burn out, because there is going to be much more current then it suppose to be, but wires? If they are not rated for that much current, they will get burned no matter if you are using an attenuator or not.

It is The Power Tool It has a SS 50 watt power amp built in it...And even when a use just a tube preamp and use the Hot channel it starts craping out....The few amp techs I have called wont touch it...I opened it up and started pocking around I wonder if a filter cap is starting to dry up..I didnt use the Amp in much over the last 10 years I only used the line in with a tube preamp, and not my Marshall If you want to know about it www.eb100s.com
