Busted 1969 Super Lead!

Post by jjkrause84 » Wed Nov 18, 2015 3:03 pm

Hey guys, I could use some help. A few weeks ago my Super Lead started blowing the mains fuse the second you turn it on. The light flashes up, then dies out. Amp dead. Visually nothing looks wrong, I've replaced the fuse....no dice.

Any idea where I should even start? This is really killing me.

Thanks!

Remove all the tubes and then turn the amp on, take it off of stand by. Does it blow a fuse?

Does the mains fuse blow when you turn on power or when taking it off standby?

Does the mains fuse blow with all tubes removed and when taking it off standby? If so, likely bad filter caps or rectifier diodes.
