Capacitor Value

Post by Dax » Mon Aug 30, 2004 9:20 pm

Ive noticed .022 Caps in the position shown and I have a .0022uf cap here in my 50 Watt Lead, Whats the difference, any experience with both. My CD says to use a .022, but i saw that Gnugear had a .0022 in his, so i did the same. The amp sounds fantastic.

Hey Dax, just did some swapping with that one.

The .0022uf is stock on the 1969 PTP circuit board and the .022uf is "stock" on the 1968 board (well in genaral!!!).

The lower value cap (.0022s) will allow higher frequencies to pass through, resulting in an overhall brighter sound in this channel (that's your bright Channel 1st stage preamp).

I prefer the a .022uf there...warmer or less bright.
