Negative Feedback Wire

Can someone refresh my memory about the differences hooking the negative feedback wire to the 4, 8 or 16 Ohm Tap. I cannot remember. Which one gives the most gain?

That I'm not sure of. Try it and see. Matter of fact, you could just connect it to the speaker jack, then your amp's damping factor/gain will be the same no matter which impedance you're running.

The tap that provides the least negative feedback (i.e. the least voltage returned into the power amp) gives the most gain. The four ohm tap is the most gain, and it goes down sequentially as the amount of tranny winding you're using for feedback decreases.

Hey Guys!! I'm still loving my Metro 50, and I'm still up for tweaking and what will get me more overdrive. Will the negative feedback from 8 to 4 ohms get me more of what I want? What I mean is, when you are talking GAIN you mean distortion and not volume. ANY other info would be appreciated!
Already have a PPIMV, not much difference overall.
Thanks again!!

If you're currently on the eight ohm tap moving the feedback wire to the four ohm tap will give you slightly more volume and distortion, at the expense of some tightness in your low end. It's a balancing act as to what you like better vs. how tight a sound you need.
