Installed the Larmar PPIMV today. Sounds killer! Who needs a distortion pedal! Found the shielded wire kind of a pain to work with. Not many wire strands in there and it was easy to clip a few off when stripping the wire back.
On another note...noticed big drops in the AC Wall Volts at home. At 3pm today wall voltage was down to 114vac, last night before i went to bed i checked and it was at 123.7 vac. The drop in my amps high voltage was pretty significant, 123.7vac= 491vdc and 114vac=457vdc. With the heat we're having here in jersey im sure the power grid is dropping. But something to keep in mind when your doing your bias. Guess i need a voltage regulator now.

Re: First Build
I noticed when i plugged into input 1 and dimed the Mv and dimed Vol 1 i was getting a pretty good hum with the guitar vol at 0. It was dead quiet when i did the the same thing plugged into input 2. any ideas?

Re: First Build
ok, after going over my wiring, spreading wires apart checking solder joints, ohming grounds, and reading every post i can find on hum, i changed my preamp tubes and the hum is gone when i dime the master volume and channel one volume...also there is no more hum when i plug the guitar in but have the volume on the guitar off.
i originally had jj's in the preamp along with the power tubes...i lost one of the power tubes after 10 minutes of playing so i put winged c el34's in an tungsols in the pre. well i put the jjs back and the hum is gone. To late now to crank the amp but we'll see what happen tomorrow
