Where is the scope connected?

On the B+ line some where... mains, screens, etc.

Played it for 45 minuets and the tranny's stayed really cool. This amp is totally silent now, no buzz no hiss, nothing!

Im thinking I have to turn my tranny around in my other 12000. No hiss at all?

Which way is it oriented now?

Phil, that sounds awesome! I opted for Chris' C1998 for my build, but I'm going to try my Marstran 1202-132 in it as well. That clip is spot-on. I just discovered the thread on "Larry Grounding", so I'm actually kind of glad I'm not further along in my build than I am.

The last build I did I followed the Night Owl instructions which had the OTs secondary wires towards the choke.

Interesting, and rotating the OT 180 degrees helps with hum?

Well, Strat78 and myself followed those directions and the amps work fine but we believe it's wrong, and possibly create some extra noise or even may change some dynamics. Plexified confirmed that the secondaries should face the PT as well. Georges builds also have the secondaries towards the PT.
Some of this stuff may seem hair splitting, but considering the size of these trannies, and the close proximity.

OK, cool; that's the way I have mine oriented. Thanks for the threads and pics guys; these are a huge help on a 1st time build.

Strat78 wrote:Good question. So, referencing VH1 type sag: the C and D chords in the chorus of I'm The One, and the the D and E chords in RWTD before the second solo: You want that ability to strain (mush out) the PT with how hard you hit the strings. When I had the straight 32uf PI cap in the 12 series it was too mushy (with Dave F specs and setup minus the 100uf PI) even without aggressive picking. With the 50/50 PI cap it is just about right, yet the low end flubbs out when you hit the strings too hard (bass setting at about 3). I should have tried a clip with the bass on zero, but I went ahead and put in a 32/32 PI cap to see where that takes the low E string. Just need a window to make another clip with the amp dimed. The rabbit hole is deep.

Glad that info helped out . If your doin the EVH thing , the big otx effects the caps directly under it as well as colorizes half the tube compliment . Think texture here , or shimmer ! It happens on Atomic punk and push comes shove.

To further spill the beans this is a massive physics experiment courtesy of magnetism . Alll the irradiation is a living thing .
Think tube rectifier . Now we have the conversely small PTX . Small in the sense that the wire gauge purposelt restricts whenn asked for MORE . Viola SSSSAaagggg.

BTW , Ed used tube shields on the pre amp tubes .

Have a metal panel ? lucky you .

Tell me how a 100 foot power cord sags ,hint . :champ:

Shannon , btw , orange wire is a you drill it deal . Jose did too .

I think there is another clip a couple pages up, but I can't stand what soundclick does to the recordings.

Ok, thanks. It just seemed odd to me to have a seperate hole for the orange ground. 100 foot power cord eh?

What do you mean by the metal panel?
