Those boards look awesome. Those turrets are so easy to work with as well. Wish I could get my hands on some of those Mustards as well.

Re: 12-series project
OK, I got my 68 kit and I feel like an 12-18 year old again but, OMG, I've got solder block, where do I begin this build? I'll print the 100w plexi directions and go from there. Any advise on getting this thing rolling would be great?

Re: 12-series project
Its a good idea to look at the 100w kit instructions. Follow the steps in the instructions, but look at the 68' chassis layout.

Download the NightOwl instructions. They were fairly helpfull for the 68.Strat78 wrote:OK, I got my 68 kit and I feel like an 12-18 year old again but, OMG, I've got solder block, where do I begin this build? Excellent work, Vegard! I have some 470pF RS silver micas to sell if you're interested, for the tone stack and mixer resistor.

Looks great Vegard!
One note: I think you have a 10k 2W MO in V2, that should be a 100k. It looks like brown-black-orange in the last pic. I'd suggest using Allen Bradley or a carbon film there personally.

Re: 12-series project
Help!
When I flip the power switch, one of the 4 bolts that attaches the PT to the chassis turns burning hot just in a few seconds. Anyone know why that can happen? It is the bolt on the primaryside closest to the blue biaswires.
Also, the red lamp dont work correctly. When I power up the amp there is only a very weak light, and the light is there for some seconds even after I have turned off the amp.
It is a 120V lamp. I have 230V from the wall, so I have connected the lamp to 120V tap and COM on the secondary, PT. Is that correct?

Re: 12-series project
Maybe its not a good idea to use a 120V lamp on this amp, since the 100uF cap also is connected to COM? Maybe that is why the lamp still lit after the amp is turned off...

Re: 12-series project
For the lamp, I need a 6V and not a 120V.
On the PT, i dont know... the problem fixed itself over the night, hehe. The amp works fine now : )
