Advice Please.

I've bee here for a few weeks, got some feedback from members on what amps they're running. More than a few are running 50's 100's bass and lead circuit designs. Some of the guys on here have said that their "sound" isn't as immediate as this tone, more sag. Where does that immediate bark and tightness come from? It's a tightness that I'm looking for - what creates that, the OT?
