Jtm 45/100 convert to superlead

Post by StuartC » Wed Oct 17, 2012 6:22 am

What would I need to do to my jtm45/100 build to make it to superlead spec?

Love the tone, but want the tighter bottom end of a superlead.

What do you like/dislike?

Easiest is to sell and buy a SL

Tightening up is easy, how about EQ, speed of reaction etc??

It's hard to describe, but it seems to lack a bit of smoothness on the low end- seems a bit flabby(?) and square sounding.
Had a play with EQ but not really any change.
Perhaps it's the speakers, as you have mentioned before, but there's no easy or cheap way of trying all the possible replacements!
Tempted to sell and try a YJM100- for the usable plexi tones, fx loop for my Rotosphere, and the power scaling.

There was a new yjm and flight case for £900 on ebay until yesterday, I was tempted just to try one but too many outgoings at the moment for a frivolity!

That's the one I noticed too!!!

I figure that selling my 45/100 and adding a bit of cash would be easier than constantly buying, fitting and testing new speakers to find the ideal pairing!!

Had a bit more of a play today through my complete gigging setup, and am now pretty happy. With this and the AFD100 I've got a huge range of tones.

Also Tried taking a load of bass out with my EQ pedal too, which sounded pretty nice.

It sounds amazing with my Firebird I copy!!

For now it stays put........!
