Metroplex tubes

Hey. New metroplex owner. Never had a 100 watt head so two basic questions. How many pre amp tubes are there in this head? I.e. when i want to replace tubes how many pre amp tubes do i need to purchase? I know i need a matched quad of power amp tubes. Also, any reason I shouldn't buy a reasonably priced matched quad of mullard RI el34's instead of tung sol ri el34's? These mullards look like what you originally used in this head until you ran out.
