1976 Mk II Superlead Transformer Help!

Post by 2KutzMalone » Sat Dec 19, 2020 6:49 pm

Hello everyone
I recently picked up this my first Superlead. I am familiar with the older marshalls i have a 2004 JCM 800 I love but always wanted a 1959 circuit. Here she is, 1976 Superlead MK II named Jean.

I’m really curious about this ginormous power transformer. The stamping is
A-047777
EIA606-506
SB4

From the research I have done since picking this amp up yesterday is that this could be a Schumacher? But I am habing a hard time sourcing this PT.
Has anyone seen a PT like this used on a Superlead? Is it even for a Superlead? A new hole pattern was needed to fit this massive hunk of iron in the chassis.
The circuit is still mostly that of a Superlead and not a super bass.
Also. What are there diodes on the outer pair of power tubes?
Cheers guys
