I'm the proud owner of this 45/100 Block End (#7) and now that I've had it for over a month, I thought I'd share my thoughts:

This amp is truly amazing in both its appearance and tone. George's attention to detail is second to none and his workmanship is about as close to perfect as it gets. While the pictures in the archive section look great, the 45/100 Block End is even more breathtaking to see in person. As far as the tone of this amp goes, for my tastes it truly is the holy grail of Marshall tone. George recently posted a You Tube video comparing my amp to an original '66 JTM45/100:

http://www.youtube.com/user/metroampcom ... 4qprDkSSyo

After 50+ hours this amp has really started to sweeten up and definitely has that special mojo (swirl?) going on like some of my other 60's era amps. From the video you can tell that it rips when cranked, but what some may not realize is that by setting the volume lower (or by rolling back the volume on the guitar) it is capable of beautiful clean tones that even rival my '67 Super Reverb. I have owned and played many great amps, but most of them need to be turned up past halfway before the magic happens. Not so with the 45/100... it has lots of clean headroom as far as plexis go and sounds great whether it's on 1 or 10. Just in case you are considering this amp but are afraid that it may be too loud for smaller gigs, I should mention that one of my favorite ways to use this amp in a smaller venue is to set the volume lower so that I get a great clean sound, and then add a high quality OD pedal to push it into overdrive/distortion as needed. The 45/100 is extremely touch sensitive and dynamic and sounds wonderful with both humbuckers and single coils. Buy this amp and you will not regret it. It's worth every penny and more. Thanks George...

UPDATE:

I just purchased a Metropoulos 4x12 pinstripe slant cabinet with Austin Speaker Works drivers to go with my 45/100. I asked George to load it with Elegantes and KTS-70s in an X-pattern. WOW, I now understand the buzz surrounding these speakers. They are very balanced throughout the entire spectrum and sound incredible even before they're broken in. I'll try to post a review of these speakers in the "Speakers" section of the forum after I've had sufficient time to break them in.

Thanks to George for another outstanding Metropoulos product!

Yes, I really liked that cab and those speakers! Very much a best of both worlds mix with those alnicos and ceramics. And ideal for the 45/100.
