I've decided to try to chase down the WOF live tones of spoonful and crossroads...
after trawling forums and so forth i've come to the conclusion that it was the fool SG, and
i'm guessing (but not sure) that it was probably a 67 super (or 2) with EL34's...

what are the thoughts of folks around these parts...

the only person i've ever heard get close is eric johnson in this clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONpAo3PCX9c

he sorta loses it in the middle a bit, but the first few phrases are pure cream...

i'm really after as specific information here so i can make a purchase that i'll
be completely happy with...

cheers folks!!

Luke.

My recommendation:

10 series 100-watter with

- Drake-style OT (1202-119 or 1202-132 clone)
- 1203-80 PT with the later style rectification (probably not the dual rectifier type, although I may be wrong about that)
- 2x100uF + 2x32uF filter cap arrangement.
- Standard JTM45-style (aka "bass") preamp but with a dual 32uF with extra 10k voltage drop resistor between the two filter sections.
- Possibly also 8.2k+10k voltage drop resistor earlier in the B+ line, rather than the single 8.2k or 10k one found in the earlier amps. That last bit is also pure guesswork.

I agree with shakti! I'm not shure about mixer resistor (270k or 470k) and NFB (27k or 47k), although I guess the former

wasn't it you Roe that I quoted from the post on TGP about the filtering values?
