Here's a low resolution (sorry) video clip we made in the shop comparing my original '66 100 watt to my Metropoulos 45/100 replica.
I mention the gear and settings in the clip. Only camera audio and it breaks up pretty bad, I apologize.
It's quick and dirty, so take it for what it's worth.

Looks like even after uploading for a hour and a half, the last 35 seconds or so were cut off. Hopefully that will show up. Or I'll upload again over the holiday.

Edit: here is a new upload that has the full length video:

AWESOME!!! Your 45/100 clearly sound better than the original. Even without all the fancy glass! :)

Wow, that was really something! Some lucky Guy is gettin' a hell of a Christmas gift!

Definitely sounds great, but I have to give the nod to the original. Not surprising, since the replica isn't broken in yet. Check the first chord on the bridge pickup - on the original there's much more of that "molten gold" feel that I associate with a 45/100. The replica sounds a little more strident, a little thinner, not as thick yet not as much detail. They do sound very close though, and I would expect the replica to have much more of those characteristics once it gets a good 40-50 hours of use.

Pretty respectable tone for modern tubes. The original does feel slightly better to play and has more definition in the mids, as it should with $1,000 worth of old tubes. But put some old glass in the replica and the gap goes away completely.

Thanks for looking guys!

At my parents house for the holidays. Enjoyed the video, and I was a little frustrated I have to wait to go home to play my homebrewed!

Is there an adjustable bias circuit for the power tubes in the 45/100?
