Yes, I can update your 12,000 to the Metro-Friedman specs. But I would have to change the power transformer and power switch to make the variac work like the M-F.

Is the power transformer unique to the Metro Friedman?

George,
just got mine (wrote you a couple emails about it).

I think it is easily the BEST 1959 I have ever owned.
And me owning original vintage ones, wizards etc. I think I can tell my share :peace:
Terrific amplifier.

Thank you!

PS

Switch on mine is NORMAL, OFF, VARIAC, and not as written on first page. Just wanted to clarify this, as I thought mine was malfunctioning at first!

Incoming Chris!
I am repeating this though, this amp is the best amp I ever owned.
At least, for what I love to do, that is, AC/DC. I think it simply NAILS the whole "Back in Black" album.
Playing it with original G12-65s, god do I love it, can't switch it off.

First video out tomorrow; recorded with a 1959 Metro-Friedman (I think it's number 4?), 1968 original SG standard, recorded with original Neumann U67.

You should like the result.

Awesome! We put a man on the moon, but it only took someone 34 years to "perfect" to EVH/Marshall plexi sound :champ:

Now if we could only get Eddie to play through one for the next VH album  Thanks- co  :listen:

So true, Chris.

Okay, didn't make it to finish it yet, just worked on the recording process mainly, and at Angus' rhythm part in this.
You will hear it on the right side.
Blast it, it shouldn't disappoint you.

It's my very own Metro-Friedman 1959.

Cover will take me a little bit more to finish. Used two mics here, just like on the original recording.
Two large diaphragm condensers, particularly two vintage Neumanns, one U67 and one U87

Yes, the ones George provided with the amp (he puts them separately into boxes for transportation, naturally)
