Well it looks like VH will be playing a couple of shows in Australia, according to the VHND.
Why is it we can remember where all the wires go, but can never find a pick?

I agree Eddie wouldn't even be playing if it wasn't for Wolfie. I am a Michael Anthony fan too. His vocals are an essential element in Van Halen. Eddie was quoted quite a few years ago that he felt Dave and everyone else in Van Halen contributed buy M.A. He was way off the mark on that comment and didnt and probably still doesn't appreciate how much M.A. brought to the table. I hope to see him back someday.
That said, Wolfie is a power player. IMHO everybit as good a Bill Sheenan. He adds a lot to the band and Eddie couldn't have done better replacing M.A. with anyone else. Wolfie will leave his own mark in music. He has his fathers gene's and they are mixed with his own and are topped with genes from a very talented mother. He wont be living in anyones shadow. I am sure I am going to be buying his music soon. He is a very impressive young man.

Well, time will tell.I personally have only been impressed with his (and Ed's) back up vocals on this last tour (we know theypiped in Mike's on the '07 tour). Wolf sang higher than I thought he could. I was impressed. But he isnt near the bassist that Mike was/is. Wolf doesnt walk the bass lines like Mike did, nor does he have the swing.
Wolf is of a different time and era than his old man (as well as Al, Dave & Mike), IF and I mean if, he can write, I see it more in the Tremonti 'post grunge/metal/rock' type bag.
I feel sorely CHEATED by the '07 & '12 shows. Without Mike its not VH but more like Van Hal or something.

Dissapointed yes but cheated ! We all new that Mike was out of VH in early 07 , plenty of warning not to buy concert tickets and not watch all the free concerts posted on YTBeavis wrote:+1Tone Slinger wrote:

Van Halen will NEVER be a factor in the new music scene EVER AGAIN...accept it - people are not going to the shows to hear the new stuff, period...Eddie has nothing new to contribute guitar-wise, and he hasn't since at least Balance...DLR can't sing anymore, period...
...Van Halen OWE their fans one tour with the original lineup, period -- Roth is right, MA's harmonies were as much part of the formula and commercial success as any other facet of that band...as much as the guitar blew my mind, I popped in VH1 in the cassette player of my old chevette and Feel Your Love Tonight got played over and over because of those great vocal harmonies....by not doing a reunion with MA, Eddie is giving his fans the perverbial middle finger -- Alex and Eddie have never given a shit about the fans, and they never will...
...that's the personal side of things from my viewpoint -- it doesn't speak to my admiration for the music and magic that has come from the band, be it guitar-tone or vocal harmony

Re: DLR rockin' the boat...again
well, much as I hate it, you might be right...but I think a lot of that is because kids don't play rock instruments much anymore. If that turns around, and people understand musicianship and what VH was/is, I think VH gets a whole lot more popular again.
A bud and I were talking the other night about how it's mind boggling that something as huge as rock n roll could die out in basically one generation, maybe two. Crazy
