I must say that the general way that Ed plays a part live is almost exactly how he played the part on the recording, but it may not be exactly how it was played on the record...meaning that the record is the record and live is live...there might be a difference of a hammer-on here or an accent there...but he really does play nearly everything the same general way live as he did on the records. There are many exceptions...the "Ice Cream Man" lick for an obvious example. It is so hard to play that he almost never played it exactly the same way as he did it on record!
