That is cool, but it seems more of a Steve Vai type guitar than a Frankenstrat per se...

Armed with photoshop and inspired by Flex's case candy I decided to make my own. Although I will maybe need to get some parchment or similar to print on the letter. Just for fun case candy to go with my franky. Need to get a bored surround or something for the photograph. Had to recreate the DVD and the letter from scratch all the images I used as reference were horrible low resolution. Had to squint to get some of the information lol

someone brought up southeast guitars on another forum I belong to and his prices jumped a bit. he was even cheaper?!

check out the Kramer Forum, they all like his work but, like everyone else..he is probably slammed with biz and backed up.

Just a little update, just need to find an appropriate cardboard satin finished gift box and some EVH picks.

This topic has been too quiet, so... :shred:
I just felt like tossing these together, a couple days ago, for a family pic.

The Frankies are a KnE body with a Divebomb neck (fully mounted) and a Divebomb body and a Musikraft neck (needing some - most - parts). I swaped necks yesterday - in EVH fashion - so now it's a KnE+MK and a DB+DB.
The 5150 is a KnE poplar body with an AllParts padle neck that I shaped manually!!!

There is another Franky (all AllParts), my very first one, which is with a friend.

In a week or so, I'll receive the remaining parts for the DB Franky, and - hopefully - my SIN pickups will arrive. Thsese are taking too long, the tales about Chris Carter are true... :(

Hey OP has some questions.

Of you Franky Builders, I realize to make a REPLICA it has to be a 21 fret guitar.... But that kinda sucks balls when you used to 22 fret guitars right? Do you actually get used to extra wide spacing down at the 1-5 frets and the missing fret? I'd probably make my replica with 21 fret's to keep it authentic, but I don't think I'd really enjoy playing all that much.

What about the width and thickness of the replica necks? Identical to musicman or wolfgang guitars? OR wider and or fatter?

Thanks!

And just in case you believe a Floyd "neuters a whole lot of tone"...

Dood, are you in Asia? Yes the tone was pretty good, youtube messes shit up. I am sure it is better in-person. What amp?

Replica necks are wider at the nut. 1 3/4. R2 nut. Still, Ed had the Kreamer beack - one piece maple neck - 1 3/4 nut width, R2 nut, which had 22 frets. So did his Strat-headstock Kramer neck, the one that ended up on Charvel VH-II Bumblebee. So, you can make a replica of the original with 22 frets.

Edit: there is also the Tom Anderson neck, 22 frets.

You may not believe it, Cary, but, as I recall, Jimi uses a Peavey Vypyr. 30W I think...
