He was truly speechless, no bad-boys reference whatsoever.

Re: must have been a surprise!
He should have immediately peppered him with questions like, "what was the white knob on the back of the Marshall?"
"If you make a mistake, do it twice and smile and let people think you meant it." Jan Van Halen.

Yeah it kinda stinks that all Ed would ever say or talk about would be his new gear. I mean hey you gotta market and sell sure, but could you imagine wanting to discuss and ask about his old sound, and you know all he would say is "oh my favorite, best sound is this new amp right HERE, especially with my new guitar which is the best I've ever played blah blah blah...." I mean really? Would you rather plug into a 5150 combo or have VHII exploding out of your cab say? Ah well. He would never divulge anyway. If I ever meet Michael Anthony I would ask him what he knows. Ed or Al will never explain and Dave would be in his own world too. But I could see Mike saying "yeah he used a flux capaciter combined with a .." whatever.

All Mike would tell you is on the first album Ed was using his white/black striped Strat and a Marshall the he has no recollection of it being modded.monkface wrote:Yeah it kinda stinks that all Ed would ever say or talk about would be his new gear. Thus the mystery remains sealed. I'm hanging out in the Hendrix forum! Nah many people around here have discovered what to do to get close enough, I'm not trying to say otherwise.

And had Ed taken that guitar and started to play you'd have been stampeded by the mob rushing to the EVH boothEJSLPlexi wrote:I would have immediately handed ED the guitar!

Re: must have been a surprise!
We'll always want more from Ed. But I really am glad to see him in a rare form....
And that is being seen, in public, sober, happy, open, and smiling and seems relaxed around regular PEOPLE.
That makes my day.

Why is it we can remember where all the wires go, but can never find a pick?

Cringe, the Floyd rearing it's ugly head within earshot of Ed
That guy looked mortified to me.
