A most excellent & impressionable video. . Relaxed and informative narrative - Mr.Smooth Kewl.

Most of all Thanks for playing Eddie. If not the 12301, then it's your command of the guitar we aspire and endeavor .

Loved it. Yes to the hands -- 5ths with the 1st and 2nd fingers, etc. That's why it's totally worth seeing him play live now -- it's mind-bending how he smashes that guitar around. He makes it do what he wants -- instead of the fighting it and trying to do X stuff me and so many others do.

Amp sounds pretty great too. Definitely modern take on a Marshall, not a bad thing.
At it awhile, still learnin'

Headcam--it's like the view a young Dweezil Zappa got back in the day when he stood between Ed and the guitar as Ed played.

Great to "hear" from Ed the amp, playing, and some gear talk!
Like how he admitted-he is gonna continue his tone evolution.

Ain't a damn thing wrong with that

Like Cartman from South Park-"screw you guys I DO WHAT I WANT!"

Classic Ed still pushin

Because years and years of Southern Cal sunshine, orange blossoms and smog inevitably dulls the senses. Hey, if I lived there, I wouldn't be playing guitar, I would be out in the yard with my pellet gun all day, popping off rats, squirrels and the homeless who were trying to eat my avocados.

I kind of miss California. Eric, did you know that Morgan Hill is nicknamed Martha's tit! On our way to the central valley, we always came down "Blood Alley", before they extended 101 to Gilroy. One of my favorite places in the state is that stretch of 152 between gilroy and Casa De Fruta, very old California right there. I'm sure it's all houses now.

My opinion is that he is trying to get his amp to give him a cocked-wah type tone. This is an ongoing theme for him. If you go back to the VH 3 tour, his live tone was awesome. Wasn't digging the singer, but I think that is what he is looking at from an amp and then to use his wah for accents instead of tone shaping. Give the Australia gig a listen. That was about 1998. I think he is still there tone wise. Could be way off, but that is what comes to my mind when I hear the new amp.

I agree, VH3 Tour was the absolute VH guitar tone ever, at least for me!
Does anyone knows for sure it was the 5150 II head or the Combos on that tour?

The vh III album tone seems okay except for the eventide or whatever that chorusy thing is. The live tone sounds pretty flaccid gain saturated and artificial, makes me cringe. I just don't get how someone who has achieved one of the sickest Marshall type tones could ever be happy with an amp that would be better suited for Poison than VH.
