Pickups made for The Brown Sound? (*NOT* EVH history)

I have a couple of High Order pickups that are wound to be EVH-ish. He wound me an Alnico 2, and his favorite Alnico 5. They both sound nice, but I prefer the Alnico 2. My favorite Brown Sound pickups are the Duncan EVH and the Ibanez Super 70.

Well, they say "Custom Wound For" on the baseplate, but the first was just his well-publicized Alnico 2 with asymmetrical EVH wind. They were all the rage here for awhile. Jeff said he preferred the A5 for EVH, so I had him wind one of those for me as well. I'm not sure if he's still around or not. If he is, go for the A2.

Manlius and ECP Pickups don't sell one per say, but I told them I wanted the early vh sound and both said slightly overwound paf with A2 magnet.

I have 2 sets of PAF clones from Electric City Pickups. Bill winds GREAT pickups.

I dont know the actual pickup that was in his B/W strat but for the VH I tone the MM1400 or a real old duncan custom are the two that get me that tone the best/closest.
The 78 is fantastic for VH II and WACF but for the VH I tone it lacks aggression in the output and it does not have that tightness t the notes like after the A chord in eruption as heard here.

I can believe that eddie had several duncan winds/pu's, 13.5K custom for VH I,9K alnico 2 for VH II, 13.5K A2 for after the floyd was installed really makes sense too.
At this point i am convinced what eddie really had in his B/W strat will never been known,he would not remember and a photo proves little so all we can do is use what works for us.
