New Guitar World mag Eds rig

Post by dirtycooter » Wed Jan 13, 2016 1:15 am

So inside the new issue is Eds rig and settings. Of everything but the pcm70.
Sounds like the new vintage sounding amp spoke of is a EL34 version of a 5153 tweaked out some.
I really cannot wait to try one of these to see whats gonna come out of it.

Yeah, I got the issue. Very cool information. I did read the stuff about the new amp. The picture looked like the 5150 III but with more knobs! The head itself looks bigger then the 5150 III. I hope Eddie is right; and that they got that classic sound out of it. I noticed he said they were still tweaking the EQ and Gain. Wonder how long it will be till we hear it. Maybe something at NAMM! The time of the interview was probably months back in order to get ready for this current issue. So I am sure they have already made those tweaks and got the amp back to him.

What would be seriously cool is if Eddie has another video released of him talking about the amp and him playing it... like with the 5150 IIIS that was released last year. That would be seriously cool!

This will be interesting and I am sure Ed will be demo'ing the new amp as you stated. But whats most interesting is this is supposed to be HIS CLASSIC SOUND. So it will be cool to see his take on it in a amp he helped make happen personally. Kinda a intense point here for him. Its gotta do that thang or else

The reason Ed is on that cover is because what's on the back cover.

Seriously- no fricken way I will ever buy this. EVER.
I wonder if Nitro has this pedal yet and is beatin off with it in his bedroom lmmfao!!

Surely don't wanna shake hands with him now for any reason. It would be greasy I am sure

Hey now.... I had had one of these since the first week they came out and they are awesome! Probably the best distortion pedal I have heard. And yeah... its a distortion pedal... and an OD. Makes my 2203 sound like a 5150 III. Very cool. Of course... you already have a 5150 III so you don't have to worry about it. This is a cheap way for me to get that sound. And it is great!

I`ve got the EVH OD , due to my lack of skills I can`t make it sound like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9I_6b95SZ8
or this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41l9Wu5o7Z0
But it`s really a nice hard rock distortion pedal

But you know.... Its Al. And you know, I like him and all, but don't you think there is some serious $$$ thrown that way to get the promo?? If you think $ doesn't make the world go around then can I suggest some counciling??? Its cool brah, but you know, there is a reason why a old bald fat dude (sorry if I offended anyone-no fat dudes or bald guys were harmed here during this production) with a serious boat generally has 1-? X amount of hot chicks on his boat with him?????. And they aren't his grand daughters!?!?! True story  Its all over but the crying.
Al gets coin from Suhr to make those SL68 vids. You think this guy doesn't spend all his time playin guitar to make $$? Its all he does I think. I don't think Al works another job you know. It is full time twang o rama :what:
Pete Thorn? Same exact thing, and all that free or loaned gear to f with at home he gets? Well.... It just opens him to more and more things tonally. Makes him more experienced and more well rounded on wtf is out there and how to skin the weasel a better way. Gear and f'n aroumd will open doors.... Many!!!!!. Imagine if people just sent you gear to f around with and if you made a pleasing vid of it and demo? You got coin? WOW! Shabang!!!!! Youtube stars make coin per hit-get a clue.
Maybe you just do it for free, you are good, and the name spreads like wild fire. Gee he actually bought this and took time to spoof it up on his own. What a great mofo!!! Kaching! Still winning!
Total dream job!!! But you gotta have the chops and the balls to back it up and earn it.
It is a legit job. TV is old school. Commercial time is expensive. But internet youtube horseshit? Well its basically free time, anytime, on demand, and word spreads like herpes. Which you can only catch once lmmfao!! But get in the game and realize fact from fiction.
Not everything is that way though on youtube. But its the new free commercial everyones exploiting. Coin or not. If your a bedroom beat off don't expect coin. But if you have a name, a reputation, and some kinda resume?? You can make coin. Pretty simple. But its all hype and mirrors trust me on this one...
Now my friend, with new confidence, go cut a hot chick outta the herd, take her home. Tell her to pretend that her ankles hate each other, and be convincng about it. For real. Be the best salesman you can be. Convince her that you are Carlos the almighty! And she better get them panties off before they suffocate that delicate flower between 8)

I am such a bad guy  But confidence and salemanship is.... Totally DLR!!!! Look at the coin this guy makes  School is over 8)
Or... You can skip it all and stay here at metro. Where shit happens for real with no b.s. attached. Its a damn good tribe here, become part of the family
And can I recommend one thing? Always take a chick someplace else other than your own home. It just works out to your advantage in the end :toast: Bitches be confused and clueless later.
And you can have many with no repercussions and drama later. And F Facebook! Players nightmare :palm: Tell them your name is George Van Tropolis. Game over 8)

Did I mention I am a Grandpa????? And I will school both these boys as they grow

I didn't buy the mag, I quit doin that a long time ago since I found this place. But yes someone should scan it for a reference here. Flanger max mix every other knob is 11 o clock which I am at 10:30 on mine for it to sound right-maybe a build discrepency between pedals. Theres the sde times given in the other thread. His amp settings-which I use less bass than Ed does by like a quarter turn. Sounds too modern boogie'ish with more. Some chorus settings, its some good readin regardless.
