Anyone have a recommendation – reasonably priced? Been looking at the Marshall DSL40c because it'll sound like a Marshall and is reasonably priced, but have not had the chance to play through one yet. Would love the Bray combo but at at $2K it ain't gonna happen. Splawn is a little more reasonable, 5150 III doesn't speak to me (and I don't usually like 6L6 power).
Wondering if any of you have stumbled on a winner somewhere? Pls lmk if so

You can usually find a 1x12 Marshall 4203 Artist combo for around $350. They have a solid-state preamp, but a 12AX7 phase-inverter feeding into a pair of EL-34 tubes hard-wired 'triode' for 30 watts of British goodness. It also has a Marshall 'Vintage 30' speaker stock.
The clean channel is worthless IMO, as is the spring reverb, but I use mine with a THD Hotplate and line out to effects from that. The THD's 'Deep' and 'Bright' switches enhance the somewhat limited 'tone' knob on the Artist's gain channel.
Plug in a Gibson, and it sounds like a Marshall should...

Our lead guitar player picked one up in recent months and really likes it.

-I have a full 26" Bonham replica Green Sparkle kit and has no problem hangin', cutting through & delivering the tones. IIRC You can get them with different stock speakers from MF.
The G12-65 loaded 4010 is my combo go to, but this 1x12 is nice and that it has an effects loop/reverb/ch. switching.
