Someone with a Kemper should visit the shop and profile my '68. I'd be interested to hear the result. And also to play it and compare how it feels.

I have tons of profiles under George Alayon on the Kemper website. I have the PT100, BE100, 68' Metro/Friedman Plexi, 68/69 Scumback Plexi and other ones. I'm not sure if I have the one I used on it, but I do have the 68' Metro/Friedman Plexi at different voltages like 75,85,95 and 90 with the amp's internal variac. I used Scumbacks BH75,M75 and V30's on the profiles as posted. Check them out, many seem to like it and they're free! I used Chandler Limited TG2 preamps with SSL gear Shure 57 and Royer 121 ribbon mics for all the profiles.

I would love to! But I need it in my studio since you need good gear to profile the amp.

I think that is a great invitation, pack up the kemper and head on over the George's shop. Would be worth it just to play that 68 and meet the man himself! I enjoyed the playing, thanks for posting!

Lol Thanks! I'm still loving the 68' Metro that Friedman changed into the Metro/Friedman version. I have to replace the tubes 2-3 times a year because it's always on 10! I wish you live closer so I could do the profiles for you! Doing profiles on a cranked 68' is a bit difficult! It took me a bunch of tries! You do have good gear to be able to make them at your place though. The cool think about the Kemper is that I can jam while watching TV with a similar tone that I get with your amp without blowing my wife & kids ears!

I would love to do that! I met George awhile ago at an amp show and he was the coolest dude and very patient man!

If you can't find the profiles, let me know. I have a bunch of different VH style ones at different voltages.

This profile is the one that kills me. Live, it might be unwieldy, but recorded it sounds awesome. I don't think the guy has posted the profile either.

That's a good one, but it all depends on how you tweak it by using a parametric eq after the amp. It also depends how you mic your cabinet or if your initial tone is close enough. I have different ones to try to recreate different periods of his tones. I used a custom Warmoth guitar with PRS 59/09 pickups which are a bit too bright but I love them!
