Apollo twin duo MK-II

Post by Lbrown3743 » Tue Dec 12, 2017 5:56 am

Anyone checked out the youtube clips of the Friedman BE-100 plugin for the apollo twin duo MK-2?

[youtube]https://youtu.be/WzPu8SP-Zb8/youtube]Sound pretty awesome in my opinion.

Logged into amazon and picked one up the other day. The thing is pretty pricey and the plugins are also not cheap. Ill post a sound clip or two when I get it.

Looks nice. I am interested in soundclips. The virtual amps are an awesome addition to our tube amps. Not a substitute, but a great addition. I wonder if George will join in on this at some point ?

I have an Apollo Twin too. Great little interface. I've been using the UAD plug ins for years.

Haven't tried the Friedman plug in. Dave said they nailed it. I did hear the Marshall 1959 plug in and wasn't impressed. I guess it sounded like the reference amp, but that amp wouldn't have been my first choice to emulate.

I'd love to work with Softube or Brainworks on a plug in version of a vintage amp. It would be great to see their process. I have to wonder if they account for the DC operating shifts and other dynamic things happening in tube amps.

Glad you guys had a brief conversation on these Apollo interfaces, what great reviews on interfaces and plug ins
I just pulled the plug to purchase the Apollo twin USB version

they had a great bonus of additional Neve and Fairchild plugins if purchased by Dec 31

I love my Apollo and UA plugins. Just racked up on their Christmas sale. I got two bundles of 3. With each came a free fourth one AND i got a $25 coupon on each. Thats 8 plugins that would have cost me $2492.00 but I paid $748 :hairband:

im getting some good sounds with the Friedman BE-100 into the echoplex then finished off with some EMT 140 reverb. The holiday sale on that stuff was awesome.

you should post a clip of Friedman, echoplex and emt plate !!

I am pretty pumped, mine arrives today

I threw myself into as many youtube videos, as I could this weekend

to soften the learning curve.

some of the vocal videos were outstanding.

time to also get a Rode NT-1 or a Audio Technica AT-4047......never ends :(

its a setting on some Peterson Strobe tuners. Really makes those bar chords in Running with the Devil sound good.

I finally have things up and running with my UAD Apollo Twin / had to invest in new computer / my laptop couldn't hang

oh well / so worth it !! This little system is outstanding ! / and the fact you can demo ANY UAD plug in instantly
is pretty bad ass

tonight is first night really messing with / demo'd the LA-2A , echoplex , some of the other reverbs, channel strips

What is very cool is you can demo full version of the FRIEDMAN BE100 for 14 days / badass plugin !! BTW

here is a clip / of EVH" Let's get Rockin "or "Outta Space" on new album.

I had it dialed in meaner prior to this clip / but didn't save settings

UAD mic preamp / BE100 plug in / DAW

Clip sounds awesome man. Im really happy with the apollo twin. The BE-100 into the EMT-140 with a little echoplex on it sounds awesome. Crazy how pricey the plugins are now. The Holiday sale is the only way to go.

man , Lbrown , Thanks again for starting this thread ! I would not have known what was out there as far as UAD products goes ..... maybe somewhere down the line ......

I have been pulling and buying plugins off KVR audio for years / this stuff is a whole new level

I will buy the Friedman Amp plug in / everything else out there ..
I need to try and maybe look into the bundled items that came with the unit.

I will be churning some clips and recording this weekend for sure - :hairband:

I have a lot of original music and playing thru the BE100 / well it put big smile on my face, this sounds nice
