10k decoupling resistor

Post by white room » Wed Mar 14, 2007 10:37 am

Looking at Dan's 67-68 layout on Mac's page, it notes that the 10k2W resistor across the preamp filter cap is optional; what exactly is that resistor doing and why is it optinal?

If its parallel to the filter cap, i would imagine its there to facilitate rapid draining of the caps when no loads (ie tubes) are present.
