50 and 100 boards

Post by aside » Fri Jul 06, 2007 9:48 pm

hi, posted this in the marshall forum but no reply...

hi guys - ordered a 100watt PTP board for a superlead, and received a 50. what are the differences, they seem the same?
cheers

a response from anyone would be much appreciated!

The only big difference between the two was how the rectifier diodes (and the wires to them) were laid out -- even though the turrets may be in the same places. Mounting holes match up OK?

Yes, components are the same either way. Sometimes depending on how much high voltage the power tranny puts out you may delete one resistor from the 50, but that's about all.

Don't forget the bias supply resistors. A 100 watter gets bias supply AC from a PT winding, a 50 watter typically from the high voltage taps, so a resistor or two varies there.
