Think about buying one of the PTP boards for a reissiue plex

Hey. Im a big EVH fan and right now im playing a 5150 II. Ya i bought it because its Eddie's amp, and now im not very happy with the tone. I want as close as possible to the early DLR era tone. And im thinking about selling the 5150 and buying a used reissue plexi. And then switch the board out with one of these PTP boards modeled after a '67 Super lead. I'd probaly add a master volume to the amp to. Does this sound like it would be better for early VH tone than what i got now?

yes,and go with mercury magnetic output transformer!!its a must for his sound.you want a 68 style circuit!

sell that god awful 5150-II..i owned that and the original.if you want EVH,get a plexi!!
