I recently added the bright cap (500pf) on the volume and also the mix capacitor (500pf), as per the owner's request.

I'd say at volume settings 8-10 there is little difference.

The amp has a great home with my brother. He really appreciates the time and effort put into the build. I have to say that Mojo did a nice job on the cab and these cabs look much different than the earlier Mojo smallbox cabs. These are accurate with the control panel corners less radiused and the flat lip as well as the grey feet.

Now the amp has to be played hard to give it that funky mojo that we all love.

I'm looking at a new build soon, probably a 68 12 Series. I have one of George's 12 Series amps and it's a fine sounding amp. But dammit, amp building is an addiction!!! You can't just build one.

Cole,

Quick question... . I noticed you have both halves jumped of the cap can that is mounted inside the chassis... What value did you use there?

Because as you know jumping both halves doubles the value... I am surious to figure this out...

Looks like a 16uf x 16uf which is typical and most used value.

Nice work Cole.

I built one very similar.

I ended up with 500pF mixer bypass and 500pF on vol pot, gives the amp a bit of 'bite' IMO. I have mine in a 2x12 Mojo combo and a pair of Gold Alnicos. It sounds so good that one of us in the band has used it for every gig recently and it is starting to pick up a few tolex dings and tears

Ahhh, the Alnico Golds....yes I'd bet these sound outstanding with the JTM45.

Never mind the dings and tears if it's from honest use.

That amp was at a rehearsal/jam with a local band and everyone including the drummer commented that the amp sounded fabulous. The owner (my bro) was so impressed with the amp that evening that he didn't want to stop playing, and phoned me the day after explaining how thrilled he was. Apparently the amp paired up with a vintage Les Paul was stunning!

The other guitar player used a DSL50 and in comparison there was no comparison! This same guitar player recently purchased a TSL and now regrets that he didn't decide to get a JTM built.

Makes me happy that I built a keeper, and I'm glad he really loves the amp. Now, when his custom Music Man Axis arrives in a month or so, his wife will probably see much less of him even moreso than she does now.

Are you guys talking Bright channel Vol and Mixer resistor bypass... meaning now both 270K mixers have a 500pf cap ?
