Done!

This was a FUN build! All voltages checked in perfect on first go, and it is a MONSTER TONE MACHINE with the Mercury trannies, NOS mustards and Carbon Comps, 1K pre resistor (kept under the board), 1.5K screens, no bright caps or bright mixer cap a la Udo Pipper.

This is my brother's amp and it will be delivered when break in is completed this week....wonder what I'll do until then!!! :D

Thanks man. In the next few days I'll share some thoughts on how this build came together and offer some findings on some things I learned on this one.

Cheers. :D

The 'pre-resistor' is a trick of sorts for getting the amp to respond a little nicer (touch sensitivity) but some say it makes the amp more stiffer, so I'll have to report as I break in the amp.

Normally it's connected to the 8.2K and pin 6 of the left KT66 (V4) but as it looks a bit messy that way so I've connected and heat shrinked it just below the board edge to the yellow wire coming off the 8.2K and the yellow wire going to pin 6 of V4.

Below you can see the 1K 2 watt carbon comp resistor soldered to the 8.2K resistor. This then gets soldered to V4's pin 6, taking the place of the normally run yellow wire from the turrent to V4 pin 6.

This build pictured below is from another builder (love the Piher resistors), but it's an exemplary build and one I took a few pointers from when needed.

Often referred to as the "flying resistor" and I believe it's pin 6.
