Are you liasing with Brian Wallace re the 50w chassis as he was doind some? I have one of each (Metro and Marstran) and they are pretty identical. Of course two sources may be better than one!

Neil,

I don't have an affiliation with Robert on the chassis I sell so I would consider it another source in case one is out of stock.

I have not compared the two(Metro and Marstran) chassis critically. I was a bit surprised that the back panel hole locations look to be identical (great news because the same back panels will fit both!).

George and I started on the 50w chassis resurrection in mid-March. Kudos to George for doing the work to get these back in production! At times it has been a bit like herding cats to keep things moving in the right direction.

Yes, thank you for the chassis resurrection. Are the back panels for the import with no voltage selector or for the UK with both voltage and impedance?

The 50 watt chassis are just like the ones you see in the MetroAmp 50w build instructions (no voltage selector opening).
I think the easiest thing to do is to hardwire the amp for the desired locale (rather than use a voltage selector), easy enough to change the wiring internally if needed. Custom back plates can be made that indicate the operating voltage and required fuse values.
Likewise, one could drill a hole for the voltage selector opening if desired, and order a back plate that accommodates the voltage selector.

I don't want to be a pain in the ass, but is there any chance of having a few of the 12xxx chassis finished like this one(see pic), -after a half dozen 68 builds, I'm hungry for something a little more unpolished. Still, this might be George's gig, so perhaps I should back off. Thanks Robert, the good ol' days of Metro are here again!

I would have to to defer to George on that... but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask!

The plating methods we use are zinc chromate on steel (which can be clear or gold) and anodizing on aluminum. Note that not all aluminum chassis get anodized.
There is no chrome process on any of our parts.

There isn't an option to run small numbers of custom chassis. 25 is the min. But the price point only starts to make sense at 50 pieces.

Just received my 50 watt chassis from Valve storm...anxious to do another build for I've been outta it for a while running sound. Have mostly NOS parts, Iskra Mustard original board etc. BTW the chassis is super nice. Thinking about getting another :D
