2204 build

Post by big_teee » Fri Oct 04, 2013 11:01 pm

I finished a 2204 build.
Everything works great, and sounds good.
The problem when I made a record of the voltage, I have very high voltage readings on the PI pins 2,3,7, &8.
I'll only list the pins on V3, because everything else is in limits.
V3
Pin 1=253
Pin 2=57
Pin 3=155
Pin 4=3v AC
Pin 5=3v AC
Pin 6=260
Pin 7=61
Pin 8=155
Pin 9=3v AC
I have 2 of these amps, and swapped all the tubes, and checked the resistor values.
It is where the 3 resistors tie toghether, 1meg, 470, and 1meg.
Any ideas or help appreciated. :?:

there is definitely a problem,it could be a coupling cap leaking, assuming a correct wiring and component value.

Hello,
lay all tubes into sockets-what is you voltage over pi rail ?

Update on the problem!
I had the wrong value of resistor coming off the Presence control.
I misread the layout several times, and because I misread it, I kept verifying it wrong with the ohm meter.
It is supposed to be a 4.7k resistor, and I had put and varified a 470k ohm resistor in its place.
It took rested eyes for me to find it on a rested day!
Thanks for the help.
