New Build Silver Jubilee 2555

Post by massimo » Mon May 13, 2013 9:49 am

Hi all,
I'd like to build a Marshall Silver Jubilee 100W replica.
I search on web for trannies but I don't find many details. Could I use a JMP/JCM 100W sets also for jubilee?
Thanks to all
cheers

Hi,
I can't see any differences between JCM800 and Silver Jubilee output sections - so you can use standard JCM 800 output and power transformers. Search trafos with specs like this:

OT: http://www.classictone.net/40-18026.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You're making 2555 model, so for simplicity, I will give you small help, which is layout:

I have built the 50 watt version and can make a suggestion.

If you can get a hold of one of the mid to late 80s JCM 800 channel switching amps, model 2210/2205, you can use the chassis, tube sockets, transformers (they match the Jubilee!) and filter caps. The lead channel controls match the Jubilee except for the reverb knob. You will still have two preamp tube sockets and the clean channel controls unused.

I did this with my 4212 combo and have a complete Jubilee with channel switching on the lead channel controls. I used 1 section from one of the leftover sockets to parallel the first stage of the Jubilee which works fantastic like jumpering channels on a Plexi. For the Clean channel, I used a super simple but great sounding Dr. Z Rt. 66 preamp design with an EF86.

It is literally two amps in one now.

Oh yeah, you can probably sell the 2210 circuit board to help finances.
