Btw. what trannies are You going to use ? Metro ? MM ?Mat
I wanted to try something new so I ordered trannies from http://www.magneticcomponents.net/
through Ebay, simply because it's cheap. In Iceland we have to pay 24.5% VAT on all imports so building amps is an expensive hobby. SDM is the man, I'll post a build log when I start.

Clip with gain at full, presence + treble at zero:

My guitars (Gibson 339) humbuckers are not high output ones. With hotter pickups the sound should be far more distorted. I rarely use this much gain so they work for me just fine.

cheers,

I know this is a very old tread but, Mat, how did you solve the squealing issue when switching to the HI ( or low ) output option? I just finished my SDM 2550X and have that same problem, also i only have one channel ( lead channel ), something is wrong with the relay or with the switching channel circuit... Thanks in advance!!!
