Wondering if anyone has used new production carbon comp resistors. If so, how do they compare to NOS carbon comps? You don't see amp builders talking about them, which may answer my questions. But since a lot of the affinity toward original, old stock parts is based on restoring to original or building as close to vintage as possible ... and some of it may be voodoo too (no offense intended), I thought I would ask if anyone has used the new production CC's and get your experienced feedback.
That last sentence was a run-on, sorry.

Re: Carbon Comp resistors
If your building a marshall then do some research for what amp your trying to make. Not many marshalls used CC. Pre 65 used up to 14 CC resistors or so in some amps when others only used a few. Later models not many used them other than the dropping b+ resistors.

Re: Carbon Comp resistors
Thanks for the reply.
I already have a small stock of AB carbon comps. I already have an amp built. If I do use CC's in the amp it would only be in a few locations. I can do that research and decide where best to try them. And I'm not looking to achieve any vintage correct "spec".
But that wasn't the question. Just trying to get opinions on how current production Carbon Comp resistors compare to the NOS AB's.

Re: Carbon Comp resistors
yes sorry I don't have an answer. Just letting you know that CC weren't normal for a marshall and CF new or old stock Piher Iskras would be a much better fit imo.
