Getting last bits for my 45/100

Post by VintageCharlie » Fri Apr 23, 2010 10:58 am

Dear forum members,

i've posted a full NOS and modern parts list for my 45/100 here:

http://forum.metroamp.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=31263" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

- i want to go sure i haven't forgot anything,m especially nothing of the small stuff, where i have no idea how much what is needed - allwires, bolts, nuts, screws, etc. I'd appreciate any corrections to the current parts list very much.

In addition, i couldn't find any of the following bits (which are mentioned in the 100w kit instructions):

5 1/2” Grommets
1 3/8” Grommet
8” 1/8” Shrink tubing
12 3” Cable Ties

Doesn't metro list these seperately? The barebone 45/100 alu chassis kit says nothing about included grommets, cable ties and shrink tubing :/

Thanks a lot in advance!

Kind regards,

VintageCharlie

You don't really need shrink tubing for anything in the 45/100, unless you want to use it on the grid stoppers, and decide to use individual grid stoppers. But seeing as you are doing a vintage spec amp, you're going with a single 1k5 between each pair of power tube sockets, right?

RIGHT????!!! 8)

Just kidding there...but there's no need for shrink tubing. I'm 99% sure I got grommets with my 66 chassis kit. Cable ties you should be able to find at any hardware store.

You get the board stand offs, grommets, cage nuts and chassis to head cab screws in a Metro BB kit. Normally get boards too but I think you are going vintage style

I use the asbestos tubing not heat shrink in the 1k5s - that is what the originals used. No cable tyes - just vintage lacing (see tutorial thread on the forum somewhere  )

thanks for the replies, Shatki, Neikeel! Vintage lacing, eh, sounds like an adventure :D I'll look into it. Ok, so i can forget the cable ties, the shrink tubing and the grommets. I'll ask Metro about the grommets, just to be sure.
Yes, Shakti, no worries - it will have a pair of 1.5k's :) My only obvious crime will be castelco switches on a 66 45/100 type amp  :D

Did you guys get a chance to take a look at my parts list, especially cables (and their lengths) screws and all the hardware tid bits - i'm paranoid about getting wrong ones or forgetting something, as i don't really have an idea how much of what is needed?

Thanks!

:)

yes, but in my precious country one could kill himself when trying to find the simplest things - we're a special little county. I don't want to make a rope because of a few grommets in the right sizes :D
What would slightly explain, why we are such a dump right now, is this Bloomberg interview with our former minister of finances - an individual who obviously doesn't even understand where he is and what he "should" represent and/or do (it's worth your time - it's really funny, especially if he is not the minister of finances of your country :D ) :

I just watched it again myself - i think he is brain-dead - he's actually an Avatar, but there seems to be a problem in the connection :D
