Installing Marshall Red 6V Indicator Lamp

Post by Littlewyan » Fri Jun 12, 2015 6:30 am

I bought a red 6V Marshall indicator lamp for my JTM45 build and when I went to install it I found there is a little nib on the inside of the lamp which obviously stops it from spinning round. Now from what I remember when I owned a 1987XL the indicator lamp stuck out a bit on one side which says to me that there wasn't a cut out for the nib it literally just pushed against the faceplate which held it in place. Is this right?

No you file a little slot in the plexi panel for it to locate, you should have the slide on spring washer to go on the inside too?

I filed down the nib in the end. Not completely though, I left a bit there to hold the lamp in place and it appears to have worked ok. I got the spring washer with it as well.
