JTM45 120v lamp wiring

I am building a scratch JTM45. My MM power transformer has a lead for its 120v, no lug. My 120v lamp has short wires. What is the best way to wire it efficiently and safely, keeping in mind my desire to fuse the hot NOT the neurtral like vintage amps did.

Thanks in advance!

One wire to the power switch and the other extended to the lug where the 120v is switched to (if the live goes to the switch after the fuse then the neutral lug or ig you use the neutral to the switch the other end to the live.

IIRC there is a diagram on the JTM45 instructions.

I generally use the 6.3vac lamps to the heaters

Thanks neikeel. I guess my real question is this: I have to extend the short lamp lead, correct? I was trying to avoid that.

I could connect the lamp lead to the 120v line and heat shrink it? Run the other lamp lead to COM and then...?

How about this:

- lamp short lead to power switch
- other lamp lead to COM
- mains neutral to COM
- mains live to fuse then to other side of power switch
- 120V to power switch lug with lamp short lead
- standby wired per normal
- earth to ground

Thoughts?

Worst case I will lengthen the lamp lead and wire it vintage style.

Sounds about right to me.

Nice! I knew I could work it out. Thanks neikeel!
