Hi Guys,
I understand that KT66'S are good with a 6.6k or 8k Primary Impedance. Is it possible to interchange 6L6's and KT66'S with a 8K Primary?
Thanks
Can I use 6L6''s with a 8k Primary?

Yes!
Edited for comments:
n.b. If you have higher plate voltages then suggest most 6L6WGCs as they can cope with 450v and abuse
You can also use 5881s and EL37s although you have to watch the plate voltages with NOS 5881s and EL37s, same goes for older 6V6s too for that matter, although some Sino 6L6GCs cannot cope with more than 400v on plates.
What amp are you thinking of?

Thanks for the reply Neil.
I currently have a JTM45 I built a while back. I have been tinkering with it a bit lately. I used a ClassicTone OT with 8K Primary that I would like to keep. I know they might not be as reputable as other Ot's like RadioSpares or MM's, but I actually really like the ClassicTones.
Thanks,
JR

More load for a tube - more power you will get, and more distortion you will have (asymmetrical distortion), and less current through the tube will pass (colder bias). Tubes are current hungry, so better to have lower output than a larger voltage swing. Keep in mind, that you need only 2.83v RMS across you speaker to get 100dB of sound (from the datasheet of almost any 12" guitar speaker). In other words - 1 watt amp is enough to call the police
You can be BAD with a 1 watt amp
