2204 + Dookie Mod

Dear all,
I just finished my 2204 and it works well, just a little bit noisy for me but compared to an original 2204 it seems ok.
Yesterday I modded it with the dookie mod found online. See :

POWER - https://music-electronics-forum.com/att ... 1490433560

After modding it, the V1 position became really microphonic and the amp is really noisy.
Is it normal? Can you help me to reduce the noise of this amp?

Definitely not normal for a 2204. Since the problem has just started after the mod, I would consider reflowing all the the preamp board connections and socket connections. Also hit the inputs while you are in there. I have found in the past that a bad solder joint can cause excessive microphonics like you describe. I am assuming that you have already tried new tubes in each of the preamp positions?

May be an issue with wiring layout too as increasing the sensitivity/gain of the preamp will up the hiss levels, and can induce PO.

These schematics of the dookie mod are not correct.

ditch the dookie mod. It's name is perfect......just find a pedal to run in front of the amp if you want to imitate early greenday and leave the amp stock. There is nothing extraordinaly cool or unique about early greenday to justify modding the amp. Get good pickup tubes and speakers and a stock amp will get you those tones, or better without mods.....
