I guess the fact that it is a resistive attenuator instead of a combination of resistive/inductive components would make me think "flat lifeless sound" and steer clear.

I don't really like resistive loads for anything other than testing.

Weber does off the "M.A.S.S." attenuator, which is a great attenuator that does use a "speaker driver" that puts the irhgt load on your amp. I own one and it works great.

Nothing against the HOT Plate - they're great too.

I love my two MASS's too -- especially considering that depending on the options you want they're between $170-$200.
But the jury's still out on how they handle 100 watt Marshalls, some guys say they've talked to Ted and it's fine, other guys say they've talked to Ted and heard the opposite. They're great with my 50 watters though.

Hey all, I've had the MASS 100 for a short while and have to say it works great with my Super Lead. No trouble to report so far.

According to Weber the 100 watt MASS will handle a 100 Watt amp.

weber just emailed me that he would have a 200 watt mass motor available by the end of the year.
