how to mount 6.3v indicator lamp

Post by Davids » Sun Oct 17, 2004 2:20 pm

Not sure I received a retainer for the panel lamp with my order... does it have a push-on type? Wondering how it mounts, and why there is a slight, squarish pin... seems like it was made for a keyhole opening rather than a perfectly round hole...

Thanks, Davids

David, those OEM Marshall lamps don't come with retainors. I tried to get some clips from my local nut and bolt place, but they didn't have any.

Other people are looking for a solution as well. One forum member is checking into having them stamped.

Hi George - at a midsize hardware store (the kind that have the plastic trays of small fasteners) I found 5/16" push nuts - a perfect fit. They are not overly large or overly ugly, and they grab the indicator lamp housing very well. I bought a mild spring just in case I can't get the pushnut pressed up against the back of the front panel. I did have to notch the plexi panel to get the lamp's locator pin to seat properly.

So far this looks like a good, cheap, esay solution others might want to try.

Thanks, Davids
