I believe watkins dominator was the first amp jim marshall copied, was it not? and it became the 18 watt marshall? sure was better looking though

The first amp that came out of the marshall factories were fender bassman copies before the jtm 45.
My wem copicat is the transistor version and not the valve version (tube) all I need now is a 68 or 69 superlead kit from george and a diy 4x12 to complete my rig.

yeah frickin dude if you lived in the u.s and was named chris (or the oppisite) we would be fuckin twins i love the vintage tone (solid state sucks) and i am known as in my state(missouri U.S.) as angus jr.) and i hate you soo much you got to meet jim marshall ahhh damn you but you sound like you know what you want in music wich i think there need to be more minors like us around i just recently turned 15 so yeah but talk to ya

hi bud. Solid State is shit well let me tell ya that ain't strictly true I gotta solid state H/H british made 70's solid State PA amplifier goin through my 2x12s with the Rola G12Ms plug my sg in with a tech 21 double drive pedal Wala Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC. Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Free and many more at the flick of a pick up switch. Ask JF he will tell ya. He wasn't convinced either about solid but when he heard it he changed his mind!!

Conclusion Some Solid state is good but a lot of it is shit

I can think of a few vintage SUNN amps and some early Randalls that kicked total ass!!!

Lol JF I was smoking some good ones AC/DC, Free, Hendrix ( sunshine of your love, and to top it off some smoke on the water by deep purple and you said "that amp sounds quite good for a solid state" vintage gear is the best well, that is my oppinion less can go wrong with it catch my drift.
