Garage sale

Post by OnTheFritz » Sat Jun 23, 2007 6:39 pm

Just ran up to the corner party store, and a guy at the end of my street is having an electronics garage sale.
I stop in, and the first thing I see is an ocilloscope. It's a Teletronics, and I asked how much, and he said 20 bucks. Says it works too.
So I asked about tubes, and he said he had a whole box full of new tubes dating back to the 50's, so I asked if he still had them, and he said no, he threw them all out in the garbage thursday night!
Said I was the first person to ask about tubes.
He then added he has a working tube tester buried in the basement that has all the charts and stuff, and he'll dig it out for me, and said he'd have it tomorrow. Wants 5 bucks for that lol :D
Can't even imagine what I could've walked away with that box of tubes for.
I'll get that tube tester for sure.

That scope is probably a Tektronics and if it is it's worth at least $150. You need to snap it up and either keep it or sell it and turn a quick buck!

Thanks for the info, I'll pic it up and take some pics and post them tomorrow.
He did say the company was bought out by what sounded like Tektronics, but I don't recall, as I'm not at all familiar with these things! lol
I'm really intrigued by that tube tester as well.
