Praise to Velvet George

Post by Country Boy Shane » Sun Nov 23, 2003 3:18 am

This post is just to pay homage to the master of his domain in amp modification/restoration... George Metropoulos. After i've had my 1959-SLP modded with a P2P board by George, i now have the most killer tone at all the gigs my band plays. I had a gig tonight at Jimmy's in Detroit and my pure, no mudd, balls to the wall Marshall tone was kickin' every solid state and Mesa Boogie Triple Fucktafier in the joint! I was just so psyched with the monster lead tone that i just had to stand on top of some bar tables with fly women and other various hotties. IT IS THAT GOOD!! What are you waiting for. The more i play it the more i love it. Pay homage to the master and spread the word about this business on this here post.

A thousand thank you's, Shane. I'm truly glad you're digging it.
I've been tweaking my plexi style amp that I built, and I'm really digging it.
We (Jedi Mind Trip) actually recorded multi track at tonight's gig. Hopefully I can get some mixes made and use them for sound clips.

That would be tight since i'm never in the area where you cats play. I've seen that Whole Lotta Love cover video and just wanted more. The sound was pretty good... and so was the band.

Same thing here: George made my purple RI plexi shine with the Super Bass board I ordered from him. I've been spreading the word about George on the Plexi Palace forum and the new Six String Soul one (www.sixstringsoul.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi), plus I posted a review of the RI SLP on Harmony Central in which I mention George. You guys should check out Six String Soul. It's an all-new forum with no restrictions (no censorship!8)) which adopts a holistic approach, i.e it looks at the whole musician (mind, body & soul, not just the tools and the gear). George is active on the forum too so you can meet him there as well!
