Well, Fed Ex just blew their perfect record.....

Post by VelvetGeorge » Thu Jul 15, 2004 5:05 pm

I'm sad to say that I had an amp damaged in shipping via Fed Ex. Usually UPS is to blame for these things.

The amp was wrapped in bubble wrap and surrounded by packing peanuts, but they found a way to drop it so hard that the finger jointed corners seperated on the bottom of the head case.

I have actual head case boxes, from now on I'll offer them to people shipping heads to me.

I hope Fed Ex didn't just cost me a complete mod order.

You knew mentioning "no botched in shipping amps" in your sticky post on the MetroAmp.com area was all the jinx you needed, right?? It was in the stars from there on out.
Hopefully your client is reasonable enough not to hold you personally liable for every FedEx/UPS botch out there.

Yep, I did ask for it, didn't I?

Note to self: no more appreciating the good things. It only makes the bad things eminent.

I haven't heard back from the customer yet. But I tried to be as direct as possible about the damage. Not to mention, empathetic.

Told you remember? Used to be a pilot for Fedex doing cargo runs and saw not very reassuring things ones in a while.

Some ramp guy when seeing "fragile" on a box, would just kick the shit out of it, etc....

This can not be controled there assholes in all cargo company.

Pack the hell out of your stuff. A box in box with all the rest in between, and pack it as thight as possible with tuck tape etc........

Maybe DHL will give you better results? I don't know much about them, their cost, or where they ship, other than they have some cool commercials on TV.

Just don't jinx that one :!:
