As for the gear...

Steve: Suhr Strat, LP Custom, Marsha 100w, Scumback "Naked" cab w/ M75 65w

Pete: Suhr Strat, LP R9, PT-100, Port City cab w/ M75 65w.

Steve told me he's trapping me in a corner and beating me up next week. I guess that means Dave & I will be busy...ridiculously good sounding show, as you've already heard. Always great to hear your stuff played by outstanding guitarists, too...both Pete and Steve ripped it up.

Singer kicked some ass, think his name was Frank Perez.
The rhtym section was the smokingest, tightest, in the pocket groove I have heard in years. Did I say tight? Damn!!!

Yep, most excellent show! Great to see all the guys too.

NAMM was insane, as usual. Dave and covered the show floor many times over. Why, oh why can't we start at the front of hall A on Thursday and see everyone in order, then end at the back of the basement on Sunday? Man we zig-zagged that place all weekend.
Did a lot of biz though, and made lots of new connections.

My feet hurt and my head is still spinning.......I guess I made the most of it this year.

I went to a few places on Saturday. I had an 11:00 am interview with Doug Doppler for his "Get Killer Tone" DVD, but I went to bed at 1:02 am after the Steve Stevens/Pete Thorn concert at Tone Merchants the night before. Then I got up at 6:20 am...took five cups of coffee to get through emails, then I got to the TGP Breakfast at 9:30 am.

Finished the interview at 11:30, stumbled over to NAMM. Went by the Celestion booth (had lunch with Rick Skillman) and shot the shit with them afterwards. Then hung out with John Suhr for a minute at his booth, then I was off to see Scott Ian at Randall's booth. Missed him by a minute...guess I'll talk to him later.

Then it was just too painful to be there anymore...scantilly clad women, everyone trying to look the baddest and best, wild ass hair do's...I'm telling you, it wasn't this nuts 30 years ago the first time I went.

Wound up at Tone Merchants around 3pm, had a cab to rewire & test, met a bunch of guys from the Rig Talk and HRI forums. Shot the shit with Andy Wood and Guthrie Govan for a minute, then sat down on the couch and had a cocktail... and that was all she wrote.

The client I was supposed to meet their for a demo didn't call, so I bailed around 5:45pm. Of course the client called at 6:05 after I made the turn for home 25 miles later off the 710 freeway.

Basically I was up at 4 am, and back in bed anywhere from 11pm - 1am every night for three weeks.

I'm getting too old for this shit. although it was nice to see NY Chief, Jon Sanchez, George and a bazillion other folks there. I'm worn out.

But you all know damned good and well I'll be back there again next year doing the same thing. :lol: Especially if I can see stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teFtID7m ... re=channel" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What's up with the rain? It's Southern CA. Load out this year was nasty. Jim, I'm pretty sure I saw you at Tone Merchants the first night, but didn't get a chance to say hello. Blue Southbay shirt? Frank and I bailed on dinner that night when we heard Steve was going on early.

George, the hardware looks great and as always, a pleasure. If you need my guy's contact info drop me a line.
Have a good one,

Derrick

Yep, blue Southbay shirt dude, that was me! Hell, I was so far into the Seagrams VO & 7 Up by the time the concert started I would have been babbling incoherent drivel to you...although some claim that's all I do anyway.

Great show, eh? Too bad we were all so far from the stage...I think the back row would be 19 feet...since the whole performance room is 30 x 60.
