Anyone heard of Jay Hooks?

Post by npminard » Tue Nov 08, 2005 9:10 pm

Anyone ever hear of this player? He's from Texas and combines SRV/Hendrix/Johnny Winter/ZZ Top styles into his own to form some pretty original blues-rock. Just discovered him a few months ago when a friend gave me a copy of his latest album. Great listening, sounds really fresh if you're fed up w/Ashlee Simpson making $$

Yup, heard of him. Even shared the bill with him. He's fairly popular here in Holland. Personally I don't think he's all that great. There've been much better players to come out of Texas.

That's right, I remember someone saying he's very popular in Holland, so popular that someone thought he was from Holland.

You forgot to write that you totally blew this guy away, Mikey! I remember this story of his manager going nuts and saying "Who is the goddamned main act here?! We are! Get these guys offstage!"... Right?

Thanx! We used 7ender Super Reverbs indeed, but also a lot of stuff you're hearing comes from a Marshall Super Bass. All strat tho.
Wanna buy a pre-release copy?
